Tyler Reiman Wins Beau Rivage's 2013 Million Dollar Heater

Morton Illinois Pro Earns First Major Title and $185,510 at MGM Resorts’ Biloxi Casino

BILOXI, Miss. – Professional poker player Tyler Reiman beat out a field of 255 players to win the 2013 Million Dollar Heater $2,500 buy-in championship event. The 24-year-old walks away with the trophy, the bracelet and $185,510 in cash.

The culmination of 29 tournament events spread out over 19 action-filled days, the 2013 Million Dollar Heater main event final table started at 2 p.m. and did not end until nearly 11 p.m. last night as poker players from across the country competed for a $618,375 prize pool that paid 27 places.

Reiman began playing online poker at 16 and by the time he was 18, joined the live tournament circuit and now plays between 18-20 major series each year. The Million Dollar Heater win is his biggest first place tournament title to date and brings his career live tournament earnings to more than $2.5 million.

Reiman started the final table in eighth place out of nine players. Lyle Vincent from St. Petersburg led the pack and ended the tournament in second place. Below is a breakdown of final table action:

With 5k and 10k blinds, Tim Hebert opens the pot to 41k. Jacob Bazeley 3 bets to 41k from the cutoff, and James Arruebarena 4 bets from the button. Hebert folds, and Bazeley shoves approximately 320k with KK. Arruebarena calls with AA. The board runs out q j 7 4 x, and Jacob is done. Jacob Bazeley from Cincinnati, Ohio is eliminated and takes home $12,368 for ninth place.

Next out was Cory Pansano from New Orleans, Louisiana. Pansano raised all in from late position for 120K with 8-2 of clubs. Craig Thames called from the BB with A-10. The flop was J 7 7, the turn was a deuce, and the river was a 10. Pansano wins $18,551 for eighth place.

James Arruebarena moved all in for 120k from middle position and was called by Toan Trinh from the cutoff. James had K-3 of Hearts. Toan had Ah Qd. The board ran out 6d 9c 4h 2s 7s. New Orleans native James Arruebarena takes home $24,735 for seventh place.

Craig Thames was eliminated when he moved all on under the gun for 100k and was called by Bert Ladner from the SB. Craig shows As Qc, and Bert shows Ad Kh. The board ran out with no help for either player, and Craig was eliminated. Craig Thames from Collins, Miss. wins sixth place and $30,919.

Toan Trinh raises all in for just over 100k with 7c 9c, and is called by Tyler Reiman, who has AA. The board comes K 8 4. The turn is a 6 and Trinh turns a straight draw, but the river is no help. Trinh, from St. Petersburg , Fla., is eliminated. He takes home $37,103 for fifth place.

Lyle Vincent limps on the button and Bert Ladner raises all in. Ty Reiman calls from the BB and Lyle folds. Bert shows pocket Kings and Tyler shows A4. The board runs j 6 7, 8, 5. Tyler makes a straight, and Bert is eliminated. Bert Ladner, a local player from Biloxi wins $43,286 for fourth place.

Tim Hebert limped in the SB and Lyle checked his BB. The flop was 6 9 10. Both players checked. The turn was 3 of clubs, Tim led for 80k, and Lyle moved all in for over 400k. Tim called and showed 10 9 for 2 pair vs. 7 8 for a flopped straight for Lyle. Tim, from Lafayette, Louisiana is eliminated in third place on a tough beat. He wins $55,654.

Ty Reiman raises to 50k on the button, and is re-raised to 199k by Lyle Vincent. Ty calls, and the flop comes 9 club, 4heart, Jack spade. Lyle leads for 500k and Tyler raises all in. Lyle calls, and shows Ace-4, versus King Jack for Tyler. The turn is the 10 of spades, and the river is the 6 of clubs. Lyle Vincent from St. Petersburg, Fla. wins $98,940 for a second place finish. Ty Reiman from Morton, Illinois is named the champion of the 2013 Million Dollar Heater.
