David Stinson Named General Manager Of Fallen Oak
BILOXI, Miss. – March 29, 2007 –David Stinson was named the first general manager of Fallen Oak Golf Course, the new resort course built by MGM MIRAGE for guests of the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.
Stinson comes to Fallen Oak from FarmLinks Golf Club in Sylacauga, Ala., where he served as the director of golf for a course rated among the best daily-fee, public courses in the country.
“David’s background and expertise will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a Fallen Oak golf experience that is second to none,” said Beau Rivage President George Corchis. “Fallen Oak is a perfect complement to our AAA Four Diamond resort, and David is an excellent addition to a team committed to customer service.”
Stinson will work closely with another veteran of high-level golf – Director of Golf Ian Corrall – in solidifying Fallen Oak’s status as one of the nation’s top resort courses. Since the course opened for Beau Rivage’s guests in November 2006 , Fallen Oak was recognized by Golf Magazine as one of the Top 10 New Courses for 2006, and has drawn rave reviews for providing a complete golfing experience that includes a personal greeting upon arrival, on-course food and beverage service and a personalized locker in the majestic 12,000-square foot Acadian-style clubhouse.
“The course and the experience provided at Fallen Oak is as memorable as you can find,” said David Stinson, Fallen Oak Golf Course general manager, “and that is directly attributed to the commitment of our people and our company.”
Stinson brings a varied and diverse background to Fallen Oak. At FarmLinks, he oversaw nearly all elements of facility operations. That included the course’s opening, the construction of the clubhouse and all business and human resources functions. Under his stewardship, the course was named the Best First Tee Facility in the U.S. by Golf Digest for 2006, the No. 1 Premium Daily Fee Course in America for Overall Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty by the National Golf Foundation and the No. 4 public access course in Alabama by Golfweek.
Before FarmLinks, Stinson was the head professional at NorthRiver Yacht Club in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where he was responsible for the total golf operation of the private course, and in 2000 recognized as Merchandiser of the Year by the Dixie Section of the PGA.
Fallen Oak is available exclusively for guests of Beau Rivage. Fallen Oak golf packages include deluxe accommodations, green fees, GPS Cart fee, use of practice facilities and range balls, on course snacks and non alcoholic beverages, preferred tee times and all taxes.
