Beau Rivage's Linda Spruill Elected to the American Bus Association Board of Directors

Beau Rivage Markets to Key Customer Group Via Prominent National Trade Association

BILOXI, Miss. – Beau Rivage Resort & Casino today announced Leisure Sales Manager Linda Spruill, CTIS, has been unanimously elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Bus Association (ABA), the leading group travel & tourism industry association with nearly 4,000 members in North America.

ABA represents approximately 1,000 motorcoach and tour companies in the United States and Canada. Its members operate charter, tour, regular route, airport express, special operations and contract services. Another 2,800 member organizations represent the travel and tourism industry and suppliers of bus products and services who work in partnership with the North American motorcoach industry.

An ABA member since 1993, Spruill was unanimously elected to the Board of Directors and recently attended her first full board meeting in Amelia Island, Florida. The ABA board is instrumental in providing leadership and direction for the members of ABA and for the motorcoach, tour and travel industry.

Spruill, a Certified Travel Industry Specialist (CTIS), is the only gaming resort representative on the new board, which includes 50 leading group travel industry executives. Among the diverse Board of Directors are representatives from ABA’s many membership segments, which include bus and tour operators, motorcoach manufacturers and equipment suppliers, tourist attractions and regional destinations.

“The election of Linda Spruill, CTIS, to the ABA Board of Directors is a milestone for both Beau Rivage and the entire MGM MIRAGE family,” said George P. Corchis, Jr., president and chief operating officer of MGM MIRAGE’s Mississippi Operations, which includes Beau Rivage in Biloxi and Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica. “By having Linda on the governing body of the ABA, Beau Rivage and MGM MIRAGE will be able to leverage her expertise to tap into the lucrative motorcoach/tour and travel market.”

The motorcoach industry provides 751 million passenger trips annually in North America. More people travel by bus in two weeks than ride Amtrak all year. Studies show, in some years there are more people traveling by motorcoach than by commercial airlines.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the ABA board and look forward to assisting MGM MIRAGE and other resorts expand their outreach to the motorcoach travel market,” Spruill said.
